I am an independent researcher. I previously worked at New York University and Gettysburg College. My current research focuses on labor-saving technological change, its effect on employment patterns, and the role of the state in technological change. I use both an institutional approach and quantitative methods to analyze economic change. In my spare time, I watch movies, play an instrument, and explore coding.
